Usually a beginner taking the clarinet out of the case for the first time would need a 30 min lesson a week.
The more advanced the student, the longer the lesson should be.
I need a 24 hour notice for lesson cancelation, or the fee for the lesson will be charged.
Exceptions would be bad weather, or a sickness that came on the same day of the lesson.
I do not have a formal contract, I just ask for one month’s notice before termination.
Lesson fees for the calendar month will be paid at the beginning of each month, by email transfer or cheque.
If I need to cancel a lesson due to a rehearsal or concert conflict etc, I will either make up the lesson
as soon as possible if equally convenient, or I will refund the lesson.
My teaching schedule changes from year to year as I try to accommodate everyone’s busy schedules! Please contact me about your lesson time needs.
Yes. I follow the public school calendar for summer and winter breaks, as well as March break and holidays.
I strongly encourage taking exams through the RCM curriculum.
I prepare each student for their exam, which consists of playing technique, repertoire and studies.
I also encourage participating in the Kiwanis Music Festival in April.
Neither RCM nor Kiwanis are obligatory for taking lessons with me.
